Detailed Specification
All of our industrial buildings are designed and built to your requirements, making each building unique. The units basically comprise of a hot rolled heavy duty steel frame, welded together, clad with concrete panels externally up to 2 metres in height with the remainder clad in plastic coated steel cladding. Door and window options can be inserted to the customers requirements:
Steel Frames
All of our steel frames are hot rolled steel (not the cold rolled light weight structures currently on the market). They are welded together to give them optimum strength and sprayed externally with red oxide paint.
The steel size will vary depending on the size of the structure, with the actual size determined by the structural engineer.
All the frames will be strengthened with vertical bracing throughout the structure.
Concrete Panels
The lower part of the walls are formed using sectional concrete panels, externally clad with multi spar chippings. They offer excellent security and weather resistance, and are quick to assemble.
The panels are 62mm thick, bolted toghther in three places with 6mm galvanised bolts and are steel re-enforced.
Plastic Coated Steel Cladding
The upper sections on the walls and the roof are typically plastic coated steel cladding box profile sheets. The wall panels are fixed directly to a timber frame to give them rigidity. These sheets can either be single skin or 60mm composite panel insulated.
The roof can also be supplied with single skin or 80mm composite panel insulated sheets. Translucent roofing panels can be put in to the roof if required.
The cladding sheets are available in any BS colour, with trim colours also available in a range of colours. Please click here to see the BS colour choices.
Roller Shutter Doors
All of our roller shutter doors are purpose built industrial type doors, which can be either galvanised finished or plastisol coated in any BS colour.
We do not fit domestic roller doors on our buildings (unless specified) as we do not see them fit for purpose in relation to security and operation.
The doors can be supplied either hand chain operation (most common but you will need a personnel door), electric operation or push up pull down operation.
Sectional doors can be supplied if requested.
Either roller or sectional doors can be insulated on request.
Personnel Doors
Our personnel doors can be supplied either 3ft or 4ft wide.
They come in two types of steel door - the standard steel door or the heavy duty industrial steel door.
The standard door is a steel framed door with galvanised steel infil, finished in Traffic White (RAL9016). This door has a mortice lock, with deadlock, black plastic handle and latching bolt.
Delivery
Our buildings are designed and fabricated on our own premises. We do not simply buy kits from other manufacturers as with others. They will be delivered by our own fleet of 18 tonne flat bed vehicles and the units are erected by our industrial installation teams. Site visits to our factory are available by appointment if required.
We keep the full process of manufacturing, delivering and erecting the building in house - to retain full control of your project. We believe this to be of great importance.
Delivery is generally 6 weeks from receipt of an order.
Building the unit generally takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on the size.
Health & Safety
Full paperwork including all risk assessments, method statements and health & safety policies are available with each project.
Guarantee
The buildings and all component parts carry a full 10 years warranty. We have obtained accreditation from Constructionline.
I will add some detailed content to this whe all of the information is returned from the manufacturers.
Somewhere on these pages I also want to supply information on the base details and project Management:
Base Details
You will require a concrete foundation as a base to build the new unit on.
We suggest a specification as follows:
Sub foundation of 150mm compacted type 1 hard core.
150mm solid concrete base, flat, square and level, thickening to 300mm around the perimeter 600mm width of the slab.
Foundation is to include steel re enforcing mesh and be laid on a damp proof membrane.
We can supply the concrete base on request - please click here for a quotation.
Project Management
If desired we can offer a full project management package. Once we have obtained the building requirements from you we will carry out the following tasks within the package:
1 - Apply for planning permission.
2 - Obtain full drawings of building elevation, block plans existing and proposed and site plans.
3 - Apply for Building Regulations approval and work with that department to ensure the relevant certificates are obtained.
4 - Lay the concrete foundation.
5 - Deliver and erect the building.
This option will give you the full piece of mind that one company is dealing with the entire project, ensuring that all different aspects of the job are kept under one roof.
